The Rossyann, history of the family
Around 1732, the family of Diego Rossi arrived from Asti in Italy at the court of the french king Louis XV to show their abilities as acrobats and handstand artists. Their ancestors, the "Beïka" family from the Piemont used to show their bears and amuse the king of Northern Italy.

Nearly one century later, Pietro Rossi was born. The Founder of the Circus "Fratelli Rossi" and father of eleven children. One of whon was Ettore Rossi, the grand father of Maurin and Yann. He continued to direct the families circus untill war broke out in 1939. |

In the meantime, his only son, Pierre Rossi was born in Deauville, France. The Boy studied among other circus professions, violin and trumpet at the music academy in Nice, France.
Adult, he started touring with various circusses and met Albertina Caroli in Italy.

They got married and had three sons : Luciano the first, followed by Maurin (Hector in the ring) and, last but not the least, Yann.

The clown trio was named "Les Rossyann" at the end of the sixties and its speciality were musical clown acts for more than 30 years. |

Maurin and Yann work as a duo and their musical acts and parodies remind the "Comedia del Arte". |

In fact, they refine their art continously to honour the seven generations which were at the service of entertainment before them ! |
